How do I feel about this character:
oh, he’s such a cutie. i love how he’s mostly just calm and quiet and reserved, and then he gets these little bursts of being insanely excited by things. i mean, he loves dinosaurs, it’s just so damn precious. his psyched face is adorable.
i was kind of disappointed by the way he behaved towards Tina in Props, but at the same time i find it hard to remain interested in a character with few discernable flaws, so it was like, ‘yay, Mike can be an asshole too! room for growth!’
and his storyline with his parents was great. that sense of insecurity and need to please and unfortunately compromise is so easy to empathise with for just about anyone. it was lovely.
All the people I ship romatically with this character:
Miss Cohen-Chang. one day when they’ve been married for years and had their fill of being on stage they’ll open a small business together where they teach 4-12 year olds how to sing and dance, and they’ll have two little kids of their own and let them follow whatever dream they want, especially because their girl inherits Mike’s love of dinosaurs and decides she wants to be a Stegosaurus (but later refines her dream to being a Paleontologist)
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Blaaaaine. i can just imagine them practicing their dances together for Hot for Teacher and You Should Be Dancing, and having a blast getting excited by disco, and then going to Dairy Queen afterwards and playing solitaire in study hall, and asking dumb questions like, ‘Mike? what do you think happens to all the single socks i lose in my bedroom?’ and talking about Tina and Kurt.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
eh, i’m generally pretty at peace with Mike ^_______^
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:
why oh why oh why would they decide to cut out that last scene between Mike, Tina and his parents?
for more Finchel. but… why?
